Telehealth Consent & Information
Effective Date: January 1, 2026

iCare Telecare, PLLC provides health care services using telehealth. This page is intended to help you understand what telehealth is, how it is used at iCare, and what to expect when receiving care through this format.

Formal consent for telehealth services is obtained as part of your clinical intake and care process.

What Is Telehealth?
Telehealth involves the delivery of health care services using secure electronic communication technologies, such as video or phone-based visits. At iCare, telehealth allows patients to meet with providers remotely while receiving the same professional standards of care expected in an in-person setting.

Voluntary Participation
Participation in telehealth services is voluntary. Patients may choose whether telehealth is appropriate for their needs and may ask questions about alternative care options when available.

Benefits of Telehealth
Telehealth may offer several benefits, including:
-
Improved access to care
-
Reduced travel time and wait times
-
Increased continuity of care
-
Convenience and flexibility
Telehealth is particularly useful for mental health services, where consistent follow-up and access are important.

Limitations of Telehealth
While telehealth is effective for many services, it may not be appropriate for all situations. Certain conditions or circumstances may require in-person evaluation, referral, or additional services.

Telehealth is not suitable for emergency or crisis care.

Privacy & Security
iCare uses secure telehealth platforms designed to protect patient privacy and confidentiality. Reasonable safeguards are in place to protect personal and health information.

However, as with any electronic communication, there are inherent risks related to technology, including potential interruptions or unauthorized access despite security measures.
Prescriptions & Testing
When clinically appropriate, prescriptions may be sent electronically to the pharmacy of the patient’s choice.

If laboratory or diagnostic testing is required, patients may be guided through home-based testing options or referred to a local laboratory or phlebotomy clinic, depending on the type of testing needed.

Emergency & Crisis Situations
iCare does not provide emergency or crisis services through telehealth.
If you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, please:
-
Call 911, or
-
Contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988
